Watermark a PDF Locally Before Sharing
A visible watermark can help mark drafts, reviews, or confidential documents before they leave your team. The safer version is to apply that mark without uploading the file.
The pdf-edit.eu watermark tool opens the PDF locally, embeds a text stamp across pages, and exports a new PDF from the browser. The document contents remain separate from account and billing systems.
Watermarks are not the same as redaction. A watermark can communicate status or handling instructions, but it does not remove underlying text or metadata. For now, use the watermark tool for visible labels such as Confidential, Draft, Review copy, or Internal.
This is deliberately narrower than claiming full redaction or conversion support. Those tools need separate quality and privacy guarantees before they belong in a privacy-first product.
Questions
Does watermarking upload the file?
No. The watermark is applied in the browser and exported as a local download.
Is a watermark the same as redaction?
No. A watermark is visible labeling. Redaction must remove underlying content, and it is not part of the current live toolset.
What watermark text can I use?
You can enter custom text such as Confidential, Draft, Internal, or Review copy.
